Chitin and Chitosan are abundant and versatile biomaterials resembling with the properties of cellulose. The deacetylate chitin derivative, chitosan is more useful and functional material of high potential in various fields due to its solubility and reactive free amino group (-NH₂). Based on current research, this review helps to understand the wide range characteristics and applications of chitin and chitosan in various industrial and biomedical areas.
